Who we serve
Our programs support students with disabilities as they transition toward education and employment. Here's who qualifies and what to expect.
Eligibility criteria
Participants generally meet the definition of a Student with a Disability under IDEA (34 C.F.R. § 300.8) and WIOA. Typical criteria include:
- Between the ages of 14 and 21
- Enrolled in formal secondary or postsecondary education
- Documented disability documentation such as an IEP, IPE, 504 Plan, or other acceptable documentation
Eligibility and compliance requirements can vary. Reach out and we’ll help you determine whether a student qualifies.
Common questions
NDCS serves both youth and adults. Our Youth Workforce Development Program prepares transition-age students (generally ages 14–21) for the workforce, and our Employment and Supported Employment services help adults with disabilities obtain and maintain meaningful employment.

Yes. During Paid Work-Based Learning, students earn money while working in 6–8 week On-the-Job Training experiences, with job-coach support throughout.
NDCS acts as employer of record and covers student payroll during On-the-Job Training. There is no obligation to hire after the training period, and no cost if you decide to bring the student on permanently.

Still not sure if you qualify?
