Programs and Services
NDCS serves two groups: students preparing for their first job, and adults working toward lasting employment. Here is what each program includes.
Youth Workforce Development
Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) — preparing today’s youth for tomorrow’s workforce.
Delivered one-on-one and built around each student, for students generally ages 14–21 who are enrolled in secondary or postsecondary education.
- Work Readiness Training (WRT)The skills and behaviors students need to meet the expectations of working life.
- Work-Based Learning Experiences (WBLE)Paid, community-based work experiences that connect school to real-world careers.
- Career ExplorationGuidance that helps students weigh options and make informed career decisions.
- Self-Advocacy InstructionHelping students communicate their strengths, interests, and needs with confidence.
- Postsecondary Education CounselingAwareness of career pathways, local labor demand, and training options after high school.
Ready to earn while you learn?
Students are matched to a real workplace by interest, schedule, and travel radius — and get paid during 6–8 week experiences with a job coach beside them.
Employment and Training for Adults
Funded through Vocational Rehabilitation, APD, Medicaid Waiver, or private pay.
Individualized services that help adults with disabilities obtain and maintain competitive, integrated employment — with support that continues after the first day on the job.

How services are funded
You may not have to pay for services yourself. Funding can come through any of the following — tell us your situation and we will help you work out which one applies.
- Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)NDCS is a Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation–approved vendor.
- Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD)Approved provider serving individuals through APD programs.
- Medicaid Waiver ProgramsServices available through applicable Medicaid Waiver funding.
- Private PaySelf-funded services for individuals and families.
